Born in India and raised in an environment that cherished learning, fashion, and hard work, these sisters embarked on a journey to honor the memory of their late mother, Malti Sinha. It was their mother's indomitable spirit and love for saris that instilled in them a profound appreciation for this iconic Indian attire. Poornima now resides in San Diego, California, while Sunita helps to coordinate non-profit work for local tailor-women. Together, they have dedicate Malti to their beloved mother, who passed away when they were very young children. 

They envisioned Malti as a way to celebrate their mother's legacy, supporting local tribal women while offering a remarkable fusion of tradition and sustainability.
